Solomon Childs is the Owner and CEO of GCSS Advisors, a Pittsburgh-based wealth management firm dedicated to helping individuals, families, and business owners navigate the complexities of financial planning and investing. Sol acquired the practice in 2014, continuing a long-standing tradition of personalized advice and relationship-driven service that has served Pittsburgh-area clients for decades.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Sol began his career with Merrill Lynch in Los Angeles before returning home in 2003 to join longtime advisor Barney Guttman. Over the years, he helped grow and modernize the firm while maintaining its core philosophy: providing thoughtful, individualized guidance tailored to each client’s goals and stage of life.
Today, Sol works closely with clients on retirement planning, investment management, wealth preservation, insurance strategies, and qualified retirement plans. He also has extensive experience advising business owners and families on long-term financial decision-making, with a focus on practical strategies and personalized service.
Sol holds Series 24, 7, 65, and 63 registrations, is a licensed life and health insurance agent, and has earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation.
He and his wife, Shari, reside in Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania. Outside the office, Sol enjoys music, travel, golf, and spending time with family and friends.
